Hi everyone! Here is the article from the Tallinn's Russian-language newspaper "Vesti Dnja", 16 feb. 1938. It is about two Soviet pilots, Nikolai Gurjev and Vladimir Umishevskij, escaped from USSR by airplane, landed close to Veriora railway-station.
Please help me to find any information about that case in Estonian newspapers. And is there any documents and photos about that case in Estonian archives? And where could I look for?

What's the problem? It was big news in every Estonian newspaper in those days. Have a look on Päevaleht, Postimees, Vaba Maa etc for February 16th, 17th etc.

I will post here picture from Päevaleht 18 February 1938.

BTW, pilot also published book later in Germany. It's also available in Estonian National Library.

BTW, later Unischewski became Chief of Staff of the 1st Eastern squadron of Luftwaffe in Lida.
