Baltenregiment badges
Hi Gents,
My first post on this forum, and my deepest apologies for English language used.
I am from Latvia, and collecting mostly German Freikorps awards. Recently I was lucky enough to catch the second version of Baltenregiment badge in silver. It came from family, and followed by the strange badge which has a shape of shield from Baltenregiment cross, meanwhile it does not look like a piece of BR badge but a different award. It is 25 x 18 mm big, not enameled (and never was, as it looks) seems to be made of silver and bears B.R. (Baltenregiment?) initials. Produced by famous company of J.Kopf http://www.ist-world.org/ProjectDetails ... e2ddb8300a
So my question is--mis see on? A members badge? A collar? Did anyone has ever seen anything like that before? Please let me know your thoughts, thanx in advance.
Best!
Serg

Re: Baltenregiment badges
Hi,
as far I know, it's a badge for member of Society of former Baltenregiment fighters and should be created earlier as the cross. I'll try to find out the correct name in german language. I have seen it only one time before, end of 90's in Berlin. Also without enamel.

A big big thanx for info! Would be great if you can find the correct name.
Kinda curious--where have you seen it? In a family, in museum, for sale? Do you remember if it was badge by the same maker, or different?
Best!

Hi Raudrist (Ove, is that you?),Raudrist kirjutas:Hi Serg,

Here we go. It's a usual German-made silver version with 800 stamp (I've seen 4 like that before). Not in perfect condition (the screw has been re-worked a bit), but with all the original details.
There was also a mini included, sadly sold before I got the rest of the group

Re: Baltenregiment badges
To complete the thread, and for those who never seen it, an example of award list. No, it's not in my collection unfortunately.. Also, it's a later (unusual) version with typed name of the awardee. All the earlier lists had names hand written.
